School ends at 4pm. Children should be collected promptly.

Weihnachten im Schuhkarton – Christmas in a shoe box



What is it about?

·        It’s about packing a shoe box full of presents for a child in need in Eastern Europe

What to bring:
·        One shoe box (approx.. 30cm x 20cm x 10 m)
·        Christmas wrapping paper
·        Gifts for a 10 to 14 year old boy or girl
·        6 per box as donation (so the box can be sent)



Ideas for gifts

·        Toys: a stuffed animal, a doll, toy cars, a ball, a yoyo, a puzzle, marbles, jumping rope, a small instrument like a harmonica or a flute, etc.
·        School material: a pencil case, a pen, pencils and coloured pencils with a sharpener and an eraser, colouring books, notebooks, a ruler, a solar powered calculator, handicraft work material, a protractor, chalk, a compass, etc.
·        Toiletries: toothbrush (in its original package) with toothpaste, a hair brush, cream, a towel, hair clips, etc.
Sweets (without gelling agents): milk chocolate, candy, lollipops, pure marzipan, etc. Please note that the expiry date must be after February 2013.


Please do not include:
·        Used objects or clothing
·        Foods such as nuts, sugar, pasta, coffee, juice, biscuits, Lebkuchen, chocolate with nuts or any other fillings, sweets containing gelling agents such as gummibears, etc.
·        Medicine
·        Scissors, knifes, tools or other dangerous objects
·        Battery operated toys
·        Playing cards
·        War toys
·        Objects dealing with magic
