Optional Homework Policy

Dear Parents, Guardians, Caretakers,
This summer you were asked to purchase the First Grade Brain Quest Activity Book for your child.  This book is to be kept at home for extra practice each week. Every Sunday, by 5pm (17 uhr) I will post the corresponding homework pages on the school blog website (http://primarymis.blogspot.de ).  These pages will cover the topics we will be discussing in class that week. These pages are OPTIONAL; however, there will be a positive reward for the children if they complete these pages each week.  As you know, the Primary School is using the CARE behavior program.  One of the components of this program is Responsibility.  Having the children complete the homework pages each week and returning them to school will teach the kids how to be responsible over their own learning.  Every Friday students should bring in their completed work.  Each page of homework that your child brings in will earn 1 point.  Once your child reaches 25 points, he/she will receive a red “Responsibility” card.  Once he/she receives 6 of these cards they will receive a special certificate that will be presented at a special school assembly.  If you have not purchased the book, you can do so at this website (http://www.amazon.de/Brain-Quest-Grade-1-Workbook/dp/0761149147/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1344677379&sr=8-1 ).  If you do not have the book and would like the weekly pages I can send them home until the book arrives.  Just please let me know.  If you have any questions please feel free to email me or talk to me either before or after school.
Thank you for helping me give your child the very best educational experience possible!

Sincerely,

Ms. Burnell
