This past week the children had a fun time working with the spelling pattern "OO". First they had to make glasses to help them 'spot' the "oo" pattern.
Then, they had to learn the 2 different sounds that the 'oo' makes. 'OO' can make the long u sound like in cool or it can make the uhh sound like in foot.
Lastly, the children spelled their spelling words using Fruit Loops. Before they could eat the Fruit Loops, they each had to tell me the sound the "OO" made in each specific word.
