Grade 4 Maths Outline

It is essential that children have a clear understanding of number and value. They should know without hesitation their tables and be able to calculate mentally. For this reason we have been revising closely number concepts and operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.) These will include as the year progresses numbers up to
100 000.

In addition, children will extend their knowledge of decimals and fractions, their ability to estimate and calculate and their experience in measuring (time, temperature, length, weight, capacity.) They will handle data in a variety of forms (spreadsheets, graphs, diagrams and charts) and be familiar with the characteristics of 2D and 3D shapes (area, angle.

For more details about the areas covered please visit the Cambridge Primary website.
In bilingual maths lessons, children will be presented with concepts and vocabulary from the Hessen maths programme, such as symmetry, parallel lines, problem solving, etc.
